Senior Software Engineer
UTC RETAIL, a leading provider of Point-of-Service (POS) software, hardware, and service solutions is currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic organization in our Scottsdale location.
The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for designing, coding and testing software solutions for the retail industry. The Sr. Software Engineer is also responsible for all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 5 - 10 years of experience in the development of mission critical applications in distributed environments /architectures.
- Expertise in the following web development technologies: J2SE, JSP, SQL
- Experience in the following web development technologies: JavaScript, HTML, XML
- Experience with object-oriented design and development
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience in Retail Point of Sale highly desired
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and improve existing applications
- Develop new applications following direction and working with frameworks defined by the project architect.
- Insure that solutions meet current requirements and are extensible so anticipated future requirements can be efficiently implemented.
- Deliver high quality code on time
- May act as technical lead on some projects
- Will be involved in assessing project risks
- Mentor other technical team members
- Working with internal business units and external customers create clearly written requirements documentation.
- Generate technical and user documentation
- Some travel may be required.
